2025-2026 5th Grade Students at King George Elementary, Potomac Elementary and Sealston Elementary can sign up for Beginner Band through September 5, 2025. 5th Grade band is once a week DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. There will be an information meeting and instrument pairing scheduled during the first two weeks of the 2025-2026 school year at the King George Middle School auditorium. If they are unavailable on these dates once they are announced, you will need to take your child to KBI Music Shoppe in Fredericksburg to do a pairing.

if your child did NOT turn in a band sign up form before school ended please fill out this Google Form to sign up for Elementary Band BEGINNER BAND SIGN UP FORM
In King George students can start on : FLUTE, CLARINET, ALTO SAXOPHONE, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, BARITONE OR BELLS.
We DO NOT teach string instrument or piano in Concert Band.
Please do not purchase instruments over the internet or from an individual before coming to an Instrument Preview Event for the following reasons.
1. Many instruments on line are very cheap/poorly made and do not play well or last long. I will let you know which instrument brands are reputable at the Preview.
2. Some kids have their heart set on a certain instrument, but when they come to the preview they either can’t get a sound on that instrument or they actually like another instrument better.
