2023-2024 5th Grade Students at King George Elementary, Potomac Elementary and Sealston Elementary can sign up for Beginner Band through September 1, 2023.  There will be an information meeting and instrument pairing scheduled on Wednesday, August 9 at 6:00 pm at the King George Middle School auditorium and an identical instrument pairing on Monday, August 14 at 6:00 pm at the King George Middle School Auditorium.  Student will only need to attend one event.  If they are unavailable on these dates you will need to take your child to KBI Music Shoppe in Fredericksburg to do a pairing.

In King George students can start on :  FLUTE, CLARINET, ALTO SAXOPHONE, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, BARITONE OR BELLS.

We DO NOT teach string instrument or piano in Concert Band.

BE PART OF THE BAND

Please do not purchase instruments over the internet or from an individual before coming to an Instrument Preview Event for the following reasons.

1.                          Many instruments on line are very cheap/poorly made and do not play well or last long.  I will let you know which instrument brands are reputable at the Preview. 

2.                          Some kids have their heart set on a certain instrument, but when they come to the preview they either can’t get a sound on that instrument or they actually like another instrument better.
